David writes prayers for everything that happens in his everyday life. Prayer is something very real and an everyday activity for him. In Psalm 55, he is talking about the problems he has with his friend who turned into his enemy. David feels worn out, terrified, gripped with fear and trembling. He feels so insecure that he wants a safe shelter. He cannot face the problems around him. He is broken by the fact that he is betrayed by his own friend. This can be seen in verse 13. Once, the same friend who is now causing distress to David worshipped God together with David, and they both had close conversations. We might have friends going through difficult times now. It is good that we have close conversations with them, attend church services with them, and create many good memories with them. At the same time, let us never turn against them at any time. Instead, let us be good friends who stand for each other in prayer during times of difficulty. May we be a source of comfort . Dear God, help us be genuine friends for our companions, colleagues, and friends. May we have a heart of compassion when they go through difficult times. Help us be friends to whom they can turn at all times. Bless our friends, Lord, with good health in every way. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
