God and the first family
God is the one who formed the idea of family. God created the universe, then created Adam, and after that, he made everything he would need from a place to live (Eden Gardens), food to eat (fruits of the trees), and a job to keep (Garden keeper). Finally, and most importantly, a companion for life. In God's perfect plan for any family, the provision is there even before the need started. God took utmost care to provide for their needs. This same God also gave them the challenge of not eating the fruit of knowledge in the middle of all blessings; this was the only restriction. Similarly, God in His faithfulness is good and able to provide all our needs as He is our creator.
Are we aware of the tree of knowledge in our lives? Do we have clarity on what we should avoid as a family? Is our family having any restrictions to keep the presence of God in our lives? In those days of Adam and Eve, it was only the forbidden tree and its fruits. These days, we face a lot more challenges in our society that can keep us away from God. May God give us strength and knowledge to identify every challenging element in society and keep us closer to Him. Let us not allow anything to steal His presence away from us.
Dear God, thank you for your amazing plans for our families. Help us to stay aware of everything in our family. Let nothing forbidden by you be in it. Let your abundant presence fill our families. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
