Pearls from the Bible 20

Have you ever wondered why things are happening in the world in the way that they are happening? Ecclesiastes 8:9-16 goes like this: King Solomon tries to understand the world and finds these truths. Here in this world, some are given more power, and some suffer under them. Even evil men receive praise after their death. We can see the life of both the sinner and the righteous. At times, sinners flourish and the righteous die young. Yes, not everyone who dies young is bad or has done something wrong. Sometimes the wicked are rewarded and the righteous get punished. In verse 16, he says, however much he tries to understand what God is doing, he cannot understand. One thing we can do: we can trust God for the one single step that we are going to take now. Like we all know, God is not a joke; He is a friend but also the all-powerful creator. Like Job says, no one can question Him. If you are confused about the things that are happening around you, quietly surrender yourself to God, saying He knows everything. He never makes mistakes. I know it is tough to trust God with all our might when life gives you an unexpected blow. But our God, like a father, is always close to us. He turns sadness into joy; let us take every step of ours as a step of faith when we are in the unknown. May the God who guides us in the light guide us in the dark also. Dear God, strengthen us to face every unknown path in our life. May we never forget that you are always with us in the midst of all our questions. And may our faith grow and not get weakened at the difficult times. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
