Do we know our God? God shows how Israel was when it did not know its God. In Jeremiah Chapter 9, we can see how people who call themselves God's children will live when they don't know the Lord their God. The situation is no different from what we are living now. God calls them unfaithful and a mob of traitors. They were not faithful to their friends, brothers, or neighbors. God judged them accordingly. But, in the end, God says that when they do not know their God but boast about wisdom, strength, and wealth, it is of no use. Anyone can live a fruitful life only if they know who their Lord God is. Verse 9:24 says, "Let him who boasts boast in this, that he understands and knows me, that I am the Lord who practices steadfast love, justice, and righteousness in the earth. For in these things, I delight," declares the Lord. All these are written so that we get closer to our God. Think for a minute about who we are to God. Will He say that we know Him? May we be found trustworthy by our friends, brothers, and neighbors and by our Lord God. May we live as if we know our Lord, as nothing is worth more than knowing Him personally.
Dear God, may we know you and boast only about you. May we live a life where our friends, neighbors, and brothers can trust us. May we know your constant love and justice. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
