We must have received wrong calls and calls where our parents or friends called us, thinking they were dialing another person. Andrew recently lost the job where he held a respectable position, heading more than one team. He was literally broken by that sudden termination, for which none from management came forward to give an explanation. He started to wait on the Lord. One day, a friend called him by mistake, supposing he was calling another person to help with job seeking. When the friend understood he had called Andrew instead, he apologized and said he was trying to call a friend who was in dire need of a job. Andrew replied that he too was in need. The friend showed him the way to apply for a vacancy in a multinational company. What a surprise! His prayers were answered by God through that wrong call. God turned the sudden termination into a sudden breakthrough (within a few days) where he received three times his previous salary. God will never ignore and leave us alone in our distress. Someone in the Bible too was surprised in the same way. He was Saul, who was searching for his father's lost donkey and met Samuel, who anointed him to be the first king of God's people, Israel. God orchestrated everything from behind by preplanning good things for us. To us, it might sound accidental. Trust me, my friend, every good gift for us comes from God. He has great plans for us—plans to prosper. The good things reserved for us will come to us at the appointed time as in I Samuel, Samuel said, “This is the meat saved for you. Eat it, because it was set aside for you for this special time. As I said, ‘I had invited the people.’” So Saul ate with Samuel that day.
'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future. '” — Jeremiah 29:11.
He turns the betrayals, the shame we endured, for the glory of His name. He will never forsake us. He keeps His promises. He will keep surprising us with His amazing ways, which are greater than our plans. We will receive things beyond our expectations and imaginations from our God.
Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us. Ephesians 3:20
He will make us pass through every tough situation with His mighty hand. The sorrow has to end. The waiting has to end. The night will pass away. The sun will rise. Our hope will rise. We will walk in His promises. The God who changes the seasons is with us. He is in control of our lives.
Dear God,
We thank you for your amazing ways. We bless you for you are always good to us, planning great things beyond our understanding. Help us to cling to our faith in your unfailing love in every situation. We know you will never fail us.
